German Chess Collector’s Meeting from July 27th – 30th, 2017 in, Selb/Franzensbad

Dear Members and Friends of CCI,
Our last CCI meeting in Altenburg with numerous attendants from Germany and abroad was very successful with 83 attendants. This year we will meet in Selb, many members have already signalled their participation.
Today I cordially invite you and your friends to spend a chess weekend in Selb, the “Porcellain Town”, from July 27th to 30th, 2017. Since Selb does not have large hotels, we will stay in the famous Spa Franzensbad just across the border in the thech Rebublic.
Like last year the members of the “Ken Whyld Association”, a group dedicated to the collection of chess books, are cordially invited.
During our meeting we shall open an exhibition of chess men and porcelain chess groups in the “Porzellanikon” The State Museum of Porcellain.
The highlight this year will be the attendance to a performance of the musical “Cats” on the open air stage Wunsiedel of the famous Luisenburg Festival. We managed to secure a (hopefully) sufficient number of tickets.
As in previous years we will have a chess market open for about 2-3 hours. It will take place in the conference hotel.. Please bring chess items for sale or exchange and let us know if you participate in order to arrange for sufficient space. To cover the room cost a small contribution of EUR 10 – 15 per table will be collected.
In the hotel “HARVEY”, a contingent of rooms will be held for us up to June 15th, 2017.

Our special rates per night, including breakfast are: Single room € 67.00, double room €94.00.The price includes the use of the wellness facilities, tee and coffee in the room, tax and internet.
Parking is available in the garage and the parking lot of the hotel at a rate of EUR 3.60 per day.
In order to ensure a smooth and uncomplicated meeting we have negotiated special rates with the restaurants, guides, etc.. These we have combined in a participation fee of EUR 190.00 per person which includes:
The ticket for the musical in Wunsidel is EUR 53,oo and should be added to the participation fee.
The tickets will be reserved in the order of the bookings.

Should anyone prefer to pay the fee in cash at the meeting, please notify us in order to register you, stating the number of tickets required. Attendants who do not stay in the conference hotel will be charged EUR 20 to cover the cost of room rents and the like.
The meeting place on Thursday, July 27th, 2017, starting from 6.00 pm, is the lobby of the conference hotel "HARVEY". Following a welcome drink, we shall proceed for dinner at
8.00 pm, please note that this meal is included in the participation fee.
On Friday, July 28th, 2017 the bus will leave at 9.00 am for Selb and we will only return to the hotel after the theatre performance.
The presentation of papers will start Saturday, July 29th, 2017 at 9.00 a.m. in the conference room of the hotel..
